Overview

The Cross-Sell Predicted Products flow reaches customers when they’re ready to make another purchase with dynamic product recommendations based on past purchases. You can also include a replenishment block so they can easily repurchase their favorite products.

How It Works

Repeat Cart

This Play sends customers to their personalized Repeat Cart, which will automatically populate with dynamic product recommendations based on what they bought previously.

Trigger & Timing

This flow is triggered by the Repeat - Primed for Cross-Sell metric, with a flow filter that removes customers who have since made a purchase. By default, there is no delay between the trigger and the first email.

  • The trigger is based on: the products a customer purchased before and historical data about other customers who made similar purchases
  • The personalized product recommendations are based on: products that are often bought together or bought in succession

Personalization

By default, the flow includes three emails with a delay of three days between each email. These emails include a dynamic table with the following settings:

  • Row collection: event.productPredictions
  • Row alias: item
  • Text column: <h3>{{ item.product.title}}</h3><h4>{{ item.product.variant.title|cut:"Default Title" }}</h4><h4><a href="<https://YOURWEBSITE.COM/products/{{item.product.handle}>}"><span>Check it out &gt;</span></a></h4>, replacing YOURWEBSITE.COM with your website’s URL
  • Image column: {{ item.product.images.0.src }}

Recommendations

To optimize this Play, we recommend the following:

  • Experimenting with the timing of the emails to see what works best for you and your customers
  • A/B testing different email subject lines, designs, and copy to see what drives the most engagement
  • Styling the table to match your email branding and customizing the table’s text to match your brand voice
  • Featuring reviews from other customers to increase credibility
  • Giving customers the option to repurchase previously purchased products by duplicating the table and changing “Row collection” to event.previouslyPurchased
