Overview

The Customer Birthday Points flow acts as a personalized customer touchpoint, wishing them a happy birthday while offering a small bonus incentive to make another purchase. It’s a high-impact opportunity to build stronger customer relationships, celebrate their birthday with them, and remind them how to earn and spend their points.

How It Works

Trigger & Timing

This flow is triggered by the EarnAccountBirthday property, where the first email is sent on the customer’s birthday. By default, there is no delay between the trigger and the first email.

Personalization

By default, the flow includes one email, letting customers know they’ve earned reward points for their birthday. You can also include a second email to remind customers to spend their newly earned points, with a recommended five-day interval between emails and a flow filter that removes customers who have since made a purchase.

We also recommend including customers’ current points balance using the {{person|lookup:"stamped_rewards_points"|default:'0' }} variable. See here for the full list of loyalty-related customer events and properties.

Recommendations
  • Experimenting with the timing of the emails to see what works best for you and your customers
  • A/B testing different email subject lines, designs, and copy to see what drives the most engagement
  • Adding the number of points earned in the email’s subject line
  • Including the customer’s birthday with the stamped_rewards_birthday variable
  • Changing “points” to match your loyalty program’s custom points name if you have one (e.g. coins, bucks)
  • Reminding customers how to find and engage with your loyalty program
  • Listing your program’s rewards
