Overview

The Maximize Subscriptions with Post-Purchase Messages flow engages with customers after they’ve purchased a product for the first time to simplify the path between a first-time purchase and subscription conversion. This Play makes it quick and easy for customers to subscribe to a product they recently enjoyed in just a few clicks.

How It Works

Repeat Cart

This Play sends customers to their personalized Repeat Cart, which will automatically populate with subscription recommendations for products that customers are most likely to commit to.

Trigger & Timing

This flow is triggered by the Placed Order metric, with no flow filters or trigger splits. The trigger is based on when customers have experienced the product and are most open to commitment. By default, there is no delay between the trigger and the email.

Personalization

By default, this flow is set to reach out to customers 14 days after their initial order was placed. It includes a link to their personalized Repeat Cart with {{ person|lookup:"Subscription Repeat Cart URL"|default:"YOURWEBSITE.COM" }}, replacing YOURWEBSITE.COM with your website’s URL.

Recommendations

To optimize this Play, we recommend the following:

  • Experimenting with the timing of the emails to see what works best for you and your customers
  • A/B testing different email subject lines, designs, and copy to see what drives the most engagement
  • Explaining how the subscription and cancelation process works
  • Including discounts and describing the benefits of subscribing
  • Featuring reviews from other subscribers to increase credibility
  • A/B testing different subscription offers to see what drives the most conversions
